The OIQoL is a paediatric disease specific quality of life measure specifically for children with Osteogenesis Imperfecta.  The OIQoL is suitable for 6-18 year olds and is completed by the child.  Younger children can have help from a parent/carers with reading, but should be encouraged to answer the questions themselves.

The questionnaire has six dimensions; being safe and careful, reduced function, fatigue, pain, fear and life skills, and a total of 33-items.

The items were developed from interviews and focus groups with children who have Osteogenesis Imperfecta and are written in the language they used.

Dimensional and total scores are based on a 0-100 scale, where a high score represents better quality of life.  Items are scored on a five level Likert scale (always, most of the time, sometimes, not much, never).
